Double bowl undermount sinks

Sinks are now being considered as important as an appliance.  Not unlike getting dressed for a function, it is the accessories that will make a double bowl undermount sink a truely complete your design.  Let a double bowl undermount sink multitask for you.  They allow you to prep food on one side while using the garbage disposal on the other, eliminating the need for a sencond sink located elsewhere.  Also, you can hand wash some items on one side while they dry in the other bowl.

Stainless steel sinks are the most popular - they look great with every cabinet finish, and every countertop color.  Consider having one of the bowls larger than the other for your stock pot.  If you prefer symmetry, having a sink with a jog in the back, as pictured above, will allow you to keep your faucet centered with the sink, and, more than likely, the center of the window.  This Elkay bowl displays a 6" work bench.  I have no idea what to do with that, and I am an avid cook.  Anyone?

Blanco's Silgranit kitchen sink is composed of 80% granite and 20% resin; it is resistant to scratches, stains and high heat.  ALso available in several colors.  Shown with a walnut cutting board in the left, whgich can slide along the countertop.  Scraps are pushed into the garbage receptacle in the large bowl, while the rinsed fruit drains on the right in a wire mesh colander.  Do you like the color?

Franke's "work center" includes a tempered glass cutting board, bottom grid, bowls on the side - one for prep and one is a colander - and a knife block.  The button is an air switch for the garbage disposal.
